Country Fast
Updated: Jul 29, 2020
Country Fast is a 2015 16h OTTB gelding. This handsome guy is well put together with a big powerful hind end, a lovely set on neck, a big barrel, a nice shoulder, great feet, and a pretty head. It’s not hard to see why Calumet Farms paid over $100k for him as a weanling. Wex is very lightly raced with only 11 starts, failing to break his maiden due to a case of the slows. He was retired from the track in 2018, let down, and then started into a program. Wex has been brought along by his amateur owner under the guidance of a trainer. He has a fantastic base in dressage, with three wonderful gaits, soft supple mouth, and plenty of push from behind while maintaining smooth, easy to sit gaits. He has started his lateral work as well. Wex loves to jump, and has scope for days, and those knees! Height is no issue for this guy. He stays straight through gymnastic lines, steady to and away from the jumps, and maintains a steady rhythm between fences. Wex also has his changes. He has been shown both locally and on the national level at both dressage and hunter jumper competitions. He also competed at the 2019 Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover. Wex has schooled some natural fences as well. Trail riding and hacking down the roads are also in his resume. This guy will be the perfect addition to an intermediate rider in a program. He is sound with no vices. Radiographs on file. Please pm for more information. Located in Flushing, Michigan.
